Ringworm is a common fungal infection of the skin and is not caused by an actual worm. Ringworm causes a scaly, crusted rash that may appear as round, red patches on the skin. Other symptoms and signs of ringworm include:

  • Hair loss
  • Scaling on the scalp
  • Itching
  • Blister-like lesions

Ringworm is contagious and can easily be passed from person to person

Ringworm is effectively treated with antifungal medications used either topically or orally. Ringworm is rarely treated with prescription antibiotics. Ringworm is very treatable. Come in to any of the five Our Urgent Care locations to be properly diagnosed and treated for your symptoms.
